Former Angel Trains Chief Operating Officer Tim Dugher has joined the board of Vossloh Kiepe UK as a non-executive director, with a brief to help the management team further develop the business.
“It’s an exciting time to join,” Dugher said. “The experienced core team, now with a wider offering and global presence, is ideally equipped to meet the challenges of the mainline rail market. Additionally Vossloh Kiepe GmbH brings us significant expertise in light rail.”
“Engineering is a central plank of Vossloh Kiepe UK’s offer. There is exceptional expertise in the company and we are very proud of the people that do the work. I hope my experience will be of use to Engineering Director Hugh Parker and his team to help them achieve even more.”
As current RISAS chairman, Dugher was also pleased to see Vossloh Kiepe UK already had certification. “This is an important commitment – and sound demonstration to its customers that it is passionate about consistent delivery of critical services,” he added.
Reflecting on his railway background, he acknowledges he learnt a huge amount as he progressed from an engineering apprentice to Chief Operating Officer, but has expressed concern at the UK’s shortage of engineers. Vossloh Kiepe UK is committed to promoting the importance of engineering skills input to the rail industry and has added three qualified engineers to its team over the past year.
Looking forward, Dugher is keen to emphasise the need for far-sighted investment in rail, believing that greater long-term certainty will encourage suppliers to invest more in people and innovation. With shared values and ambitions for the future, the team at Vossloh Kiepe UK are excited by the prospect of benefitting from Tim’s vast experience and vision in developing the company further, enabling everyone to exceed customers’ expectations in the UK rail industry.
